Blog Carnival

Now that 2010 is here, what do you have planned/look forward to/hope to accomplish this year?

2010 is HERE!!! I truly cannot believe it is already the 13th. Man, time sure does fly ... and it feels like the older I get the faster it goes. 2009 was a hard year for my family. Many changes happened, and although not all were bad, all were life-changing in some way.

I am hoping to accomplish many new things in 2010:

- hoping to triple my current etsy sales

- hoping to get involved in three outside blog giveaways

- hoping to do 1 craft show

- hoping to stay at a bed and breakfast in Minnesota near the Mall of America ;)

I am looking forward to :

- getting to see my sissy poo currently stationed in Hawaii

- owning a space with an extra bedroom

My husband and I are planning :

- a trip with my in-laws to Arizona

- to pay off all our credit card debt

- to save for a house

Much to be excited about. :)

Many of you know I have been working diligently on many weddings lately. My biggest order as of recent was for 300 magnet save the dates. They took a lot of time, but MAN, they turned out just awesome!!!!!!!

What do you think?

Go Packers!

I don't care much for football.

I don't hate it, just mostly don't get it. The idea of grown men throwing each other around for a silly ball is so weird to me, LOL.

But, my sweet Hubs, is a HUGE Packers fan, and they played Sunday. I believe it is a playoff game which is like a big deal!!! ;)

Here he is in his Christmas present from my parents. {He loves it because he gets random people talking to him all the time about "His" Team}

We were invited over by our lovely friends the Brown's to watch the game.

We are very much looking forward to football and good friends. :)

Sadly, the Packers lost. It was an action packed game with many, many, many ups and downs. We are planning to watch the Cowboys play next weekend ... and are certainly hoping they lose. hehhe

I have been a busy bee though. My wedding workload has been quite intense, which is simply lovely. I have been crazy working on 300 Save The Dates ... and .... sheesh am I glad that is over. Will post the photos tomorrow.

Also my etsy shop is filling up with cute new Valentine's Cards. You should order a few for the loves in your life. I have something for everyone!!

Nonsense :)

I am laying in my nice comfy bed ... puppy laying close, gorgeous sun streaming through the bedroom window, Hubs home from work because his school day was canceled ... and for whatever reason blogging seems important.

The issue is ... a topic isn't just coming to me.

Usually I sit down with a few pictures, an idea, and bada-boom-bada-bing the post almost creates itself. But on this snowy day my thoughts seem as lazy as I feel.

So here goes ... my first post about nonsense :)

The truth is, my hubs and I are super blessed to share many of the same interests.

- we both LOVE traveling and often spend hours chatting before falling asleep about all the places we want to visit
              a) we are hoping to make it to Hawaii sooner rather then later

- we both dream of owning a home to fill with sweet children (and of course his german shepherd dog)

- we are both major foodies and love trying new restaurants with new kinds of foods ... we also greatly enjoy cooking together
             a) we are HUGE Lotawata Creek fans ;)

- we both love the cinema
               a) we both LOVED "The Blindside"

- we love supporting small businesses and not large chains as much as possible (although we are guilty of going to Wal-Mart way too much)

- we both enjoying watching Fox News Channel in the evenings; especially Bill O'Reilly (even if I do poke fun of him about it a little ;p)

- we both could read books for an entire weekend without an ounce of boredom
his most recent selection : Bold, Fresh by Bill O'Reilly

my most recent selection : Dear John by Nicolas Sparks

-- we both love a good glass of wine
             a) our favorite winery (thus far) is Cave Winery in Ste. Genevieve and we love love love their
                 Cave Rock Red.

SOOO ... I bet you are wondering what all this is leading up to. LOL Well, it is simple. Right now we are young, but someday, we won't be. We have so many wonderful dreams. and together we have decided to put them down on paper.

We are going to make 2 separate bucket lists with the 50 things we want to do before we "Kick the Bucket" -- concept similar to the movie "The Bucketlist" which we both greatly enjoyed.

So, my plan is to beautifully write down both of our bucketlists and then frame them somehow super lovely and modern like ... then as soon as possible hang them above our beds. I think it will help us remember our dreams as we are lying in bed, and give us a visual representation of what we have accomplished as we check dreams off. :)

Maybe I will even create His and Her Shadow Boxes for out lists so that way we can also hold keepsakes of our dreams in them too.

Sooo many ideas circling me.

I will post photos of the finished product when it is complete ... whatever I decide.

Thanks for reading.

:)

I've Fallen .... for everything Etsy!

Have a look at this treasury I just created. It features items from the Etsy Treasury Team. I think the pinks and subtle beiges and greens are calming and lovely. There are so many talented artists on Etsy, and you should certainly pore yourself a glass of wine and just search sometime. The amount of talent is simply amazing!!!

I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it! :)

Here are the links to all the shops featured above.
Seriously go check them out!!!

2nd Annual Watson Christmas Letter

Hubs and I have been married for 1 year and a few months. We greatly enjoy sending out Christmas cards to all our friends and family.

This year was a little different then last year. I was so busy busy busy with my business (thanks for that all you wonderful readers) that I didn't get our card and newsletter out on time this year. Silly me! So, to not let all our hard work go to waste, I'm posting them on here. :)

Dear Friends and Family:

It's that time of year for our 2nd Annual Christmas Letter. This year was a major eventful year as Christina and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary! We went to the wineries in St. Genevieve and stayed at a family friend's cabin for the weekend. It was a nice get away for the both of us! We loved every minute of our mini vacation!!! We are very very blessed!

We also had the pleasure of traveling to Washington State to spend a week with my sick Grandmother. We enjoyed getting together with family, and are grateful we had the opportunity to spend time with Grandma June. Unfortunately, she passed away in August; we attended funeral services for her. We are looking forward to spending eternity with her in Heaven.

This year also had another life changing experience as Jessica, Christina's sister, joined the Navy. Her first assignment was to Hawaii where the weather is an awesome 80 degrees year round! Lucky for her because it's 20 degrees here in St. Louis!  The transition has been hard for everyone involved, but we are prayerfully awaiting what God does with Jessica through the Navy.

Christina started her own business, and that has been hugely successful. She started making cards and invitations of all kinds. Whether it's birthday party, wedding invites, Christmas cards, or whatever holiday you want to celebrate, she can come up with something stupendous! You can check out some of her samples at: http://christinastudiodesigns.blogspot.com. You can also check them out at: http://chrissywatson.etsy.com. Leave her some comments; she would love to hear from you! It has been super busy for her working at home, but she's loving every single minute of it.

I am currently working through my third year at Hazelwood Central High School. This year, I got the pleasure of teaching upper-class men in Algebra II. Although I am grateful for the opportunity to impact student's lives and the job that I have in this economy, I am looking for something a bit closer to home on the Illinois side. Driving 40 minutes to and from work gets a little bit tedious!

Harley is still just as adorable as ever! He brings much happiness to Christina and I. Probably the cutest thing he does is wait for daddy on top of the couch. He's always waiting for me to pull in and start walking to the door after work. His excitement to see me makes me look forward to the day when my own kids do that to me (and no moms, we are not pregnant)! Harley is anxiously awaiting the day when he gets a German Shepherd for a bigger brother. In the mean time, he gets the pleasure of being the "only child" of the Watson house.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you had a blessed 2009, and we will continue to pray for good health and good fortune for all of you in 2010.

Sincerely,

David, Christina and
Harley Watson
