Dinner & Design ... A Perfect Combination!

Since my sister is home from the Navy my family is doing what they do best, dinner together at the table! It is one of my absolute favorite things too. Doesn't really matter who is cooking ... or even the food we eat (although this time it was especially scrumptious!!!!) ... it is all about the quality time. Soon my sister will be at her first assignment, so family dinners will be few and far between. I suppose we all should cherish them the next few weeks.

Here are a few photos of the chicken we rotisseried. (and yes, it tasted as good as it looks!!!)

The table all set for 9 ...

putting the chicken on the rotisserie

my sis tying the chicken so it doesn't fall off the rotisserie

Our yummy yummy dinner cooking away

My sisters signature appertizer, bruschetta

chicken is done ... boy does it look good!!!!!

and the final feast ... rotisserie chicken, garlic potatoes, broccoli, corn and croissants.
AMAZING!!!!

Recipe for Bruschetta Appetizer
(My Sisters Style!!)

1 French Bread Loaf pre-cut
Olive Oil
carton of grape tomatoes
fresh block of mozarella
minced garlic
dried parsley
salt
pepper

1. Preheat oven to 350

2. Cut grape tomatoes in half. Cut mozarella block into similar size pieces. You want equal amounts of both tomatoes and mozarella cubes. Add olive oil, garlic salt, chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste to grape and cheese bowl. Place into fridge

3. Place olive oil, minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste on a small plate. Dip slices of french bread into mixture and put on an ungreased baking sheet, and place into oven until golden.

4. Top golden bread slices with cold grape & cheese mixture

IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, in honor of all the cooking my family is doing ... here are some lovely recipe cards. Perfect to give to a new bride as a present, or for you to keep on hand to pass along recipes to those that ask. Makes a swell Christmas present (... if I do say so myself ... )

Have a yummy recipe? Comment below ... we would ALL love to know what it is. :)

Thanks for reading!
